Hi, I am using XP and cannot open Netbeans due to JVM creation error….
Hence I searched on the forum and found that I could change the setting file in Netbeans in order to solve the JVM problem and I can open netbeans now.

However, I cannot run the Algoquant program due to the error below. Please comment, thanks a lot.

    Deleting: C:Documents and SettingsAdministrator桌面algoquant-0.0.7algoquantbuildbuilt-jar.properties
    deps-jar:
Updating property file: C:Documents and SettingsAdministrator桌面algoquant-0.0.7algoquantbuildbuilt-jar.properties
Compiling 1 source file to C:Documents and SettingsAdministrator桌面algoquant-0.0.7algoquantbuildclasses
    compile-single:
    run-single:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Incompatible initial and maximum heap sizes specified
    Java Result: 1
    成功生成(总时间:1 秒)

Is there a way for XP users to open netbeans without JVM creation error and ensure the error would not occur?
FYI, the solution I found to tackle the netbean opening problem is to change the MaxPermSize=384m to 300m inside the netbean setting file: netbeans.conf

    Here are my settings.

    VM Options: -Xms1g -ea

    netbeans.conf: netbeans_default_options=”-J-client -J-Xss2m -J-Xms32m -J-XX:PermSize=32m -J-XX:MaxPermSize=384m -J-Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true -J-Dapple.awt.graphics.UseQuartz=true -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true”

    Thanks Ryu.

I have adopted your settings, unfortunately the same error still occurs….
Do you have any idea what I shall do? Many thanks.

    run:

Maybe you can try different parameters for Xms and see what works on your machine?

The parameters, of course, depend on your machine particulars, e.g., the amount of RAM there is.
